The fast f/2.8 maximum aperture permits hand-held shooting in a variety of lighting conditions whilst blurring backgrounds by controlling depth of field. You can shoot both portrait and landscape scenes in low light getting as near as 0.23 m to your chosen subject with dramatic wide-angle perspective. The 4-stop Optical Image Stabilizer technology helps create even sharper results, whilst the in-built Ultra-Sonic Motor (USM) drives fast and quiet Auto Focus with optional full manual override.
